Anyone who knows Skelmersdale will know it's a special town, full of people who for one reason or another may not have had a fair crack of the whip, but who have a tremendous community spirit, who don't sit there complaining but will step up and do something about it.
We are working hard in schools and community centres to help futsal to give opportunities to young people who haven't had the breaks.
The staff and pupils at Glenburn High School have really taken to futsal and we are working with them to develop a futsal programe which is being rolled-out across Skelmersdale in Primary and Secondary schools.
For a number of years now we have been trying to set things up in Digmoor Community Centre. It's been difficult on low budgets but I am confident we can do some great things there once we finally get going.
It always has been and still is our stated aim to build a futsal academy in Skelmersdale.
